Below you can find more details about the kind of data we collect and how we use it.

To make it easy to understand, the details are organised into categories based on the relationship you have with us.

While you are using our website:

  • Cookies
    • Our website, like any typical website, uses "cookies".
A cookie is a small piece of text sent to your browser by a website you visit. It helps the website to remember information about your visit. That can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Cookies play an important role. Without them, using the web would be a much more frustrating experience.
Cookies enable you to use shopping carts and to personalize your experience on the website, tell us which parts of the website people have visited, help us measure the web traffic and the effectiveness of ads and web searches. They give us insights into user behaviour so we can improve our communications and products.
No personal information is contained in our cookies.
    • By browsing our website you accept the use of cookies.
    • You can turn off the cookies from the settings of your internet browser. Alternatively, if you start your browsers in "private" or "incognito" mode, all cookies are temporary and will be deleted after you close your browser.
    • To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • How to change my cookie settings?

  • Web traffic and usage patterns
    • For the web traffic statistics, we might use Google Analytics and HotJar.
The majority of the websites use Google Analytics, so, the details below explain what happens when you visit a typical website (also our own website).
HotJar is a tool that anonymously collects the usage patterns of the website pages and allows us to optimize the information of each page to fit the needs of the visitor.
    • Google Analytics collects statistical data like time and duration of visit, pages visited, country, city, operating system, screen resolution, bounce rate, entry and exit pages.
The data collected do not contain personal information (your name, email, address, IP address, etc).
In the web statistics, You, as a visitor, are represented by a "cookie" which is a random number created by your internet browser.
This random, but stable number, allows Google Analytics to understand if you are coming the first time on the website, or you are a frequent user.
You can visit our website with a new random number if you use "private browsing". Then, you are seen as a brand new visitor.
You may opt out of Google Analytics across all websites.
    • The purpose we monitor web traffic and usage patterns is that the collected statistics help us improve the website and understand the impact of our advertising.
  • Downloading software
    • We do not ask you to create a user account with us nor ask you to provide us with any personal details in order for you to download our software. You can download our software without any extra requirements.
    • Our software downloads are hosted on GitHub. When downloading, the GitHub policies apply.
